Adding a Sink to your Outdoor Kitchen

Adding a sink to your outdoor kitchen adds convenience and functionality to your outdoor cooking and entertaining. When choosing a sink you will need to know what type of countertop you will be using first. If you choose a granite countertop, you are able to use an under-mount sink which creates a nice look as well as makes it easier to clean the countertop surface. For concrete and ceramic tile for countertop material, you will need to use a drop-in sink which means the lip of the sink sets upon the countertop.

Sinks come in all different sizes so you need to think about what you will use the sink for. If you plan to use a sink for rinsing food and preparing beverages, a small bar sink will do. If you plan use your outdoor kitchen sink to for washing larger items, a larger single bowl sink with no middle divider is a better option. There are several material options but stainless steel and plastic are the most common. Stainless steel costs a little more but handles the elements much better and will last a lot longer.
